This morning my mother and I went out to a cafe for breakfast, to celebrate her birthday, which was on Monday. We went with about six of her friends, and my best friend from primary school, Kayla. Now, when my mum and her friends get together, they gossip like teenage girls. About EVERYTHING. They gossip about school, and parents, and the parents at school, and shops, and kids, and teachers. Anything, and everything. Kayla and I were just sitting there listening, in awe as to how much they gossip.
One thing they were gossiping about though, was the year sevens at my sister's primary school. One thing that actually makes me really mad, is kids, who think and act like they're older than what they actually are. Primary school kids all have facebook, phones, ipods, make-up, and they know everything about everything. When I was in primary school, I didn't even know what facebook WAS. I thought wearing make-up was discusting. And I mean, really, what do they need phones for?! Anyway, they were talking about how a couple of the girls in grade seven, had called another girl a slut. HOW DO THEY EVEN KNOW WHAT A SLUT IS?! I mean, come on. It's ridiculous.
Someone asked me last night, how I can be religious and still support gay/lesbian rights. It was a really good question, actually. Most people think that if you're religious, you have to be against it because it's not "what's in the Bible" and it's not "what God intended". Well, I say, it says in the Bible that God loves all man equally. And, Christians also believe that God made all people, and God has a plan. So if God MADE the people that way, how is that NOT what He intended? He knows what He's doing, He doesn't make mistakes.
Well that's how I see it, anyway.

very agreeful with your view on silly little kids. they also need to find clothes that fit them, or maybe teenagers and adults should set a good example and they themselves wear outfits that cover up more than just the "necessary". although, even then some don't cover even that.
ReplyDeletei love that last paragraph - you are so insightful my dear <3
